Happy New Year!!! As the Academy greets the New Year I am very excited about 2013. I count my blessings for my family and all my students. We wish you and your Family the very best health, wealth, prosperity and peace in 2013!
With the start of another year, I hope you can make your new year’s resolution to re-invigorate your training and motivate yourself to always seek ways to train more effectively.
This is the perfect time to start training intensely again. The time to become physically stronger, mentally sharper and more resourceful on the mat. It’s the time to bring Jiu-Jitsu to the forefront of the student’s routine.
I hope you’ve enjoyed your training here at the Caique Jiu Jitsu Academy. I am always proud to have you training with us. It remains my goal, and the goal of all CJJUSA instructors, to develop your fundamental skills correctly in the academy, and to motivate you to continue your training on a consistent basis, so that you reach your full potential.
Because you are continuing your development, you should never forget that what you are gaining, with every lesson, and each workout, is the higher skill level you end up with, which can’t never be taken away from you. Every session brings you one step closer to becoming an expert in Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
To those students who are wondering how they can be better, or improve? Start simply by promising yourself to train more regularly in the beginning of the year. It will make your whole year better because you will be better mentally to start the year. Also develop a strategy for your practice, one week or one entire you want to attack arm bars,so you go for that from every position.Another time you want to improve your defense,so you let the others attack you and just defend. But remember defend is one thing ,survive is another.I am always willing to explain the difference to all of you at anytime. Fell free to ask me.
CJJUSA Belt Promotion Ceremony:
We have our next Belt Promotion scheduled for July 2013.
Remember, consistent attendance, commitment and dedication can help the student to earn their promotion to the next belt!
Belt promotions are not just given for attending so many classes, but earned by the consistent attendance and progression of all of our students within a certain amount of time. The records that we keep on all student attendance alerts me to the time when I can expect students to have qualified for a belt promotion.
It is my hope to see everyone on the mat in support of each other so that we can advance our progress both individually and as a team!
Consideration for Others:
Cold!
If you feel you are coming down with a cold or if everyone in your house has the flu and you aren’t feeling quite up to par, rest your body. Drink lots of fluids. We are entering flu and cold season. Get yourself better and don’t try to fight through things like viruses and colds during your workouts. Everyone will be thankful you were considerate of them.
Germs!
I am so happy that we are keeping our academy so clean that no skin problems occurring at all.Infections happen because germs enter the skin through existing cuts. We are grappling of course and, between fingernails and toenails, many cuts are possible. So we ask that all students go beyond cutting a nail after something happens or after it is “too long”. We expect everyone to closely monitor their nails and keep them trimmed all the time. We have nail clippers readily available in every academy. Every student should check their nails before every workout. Also that is hand sanitizes available on the walls. Another way to avoid skin problems is to take a shower after practice, which is available with free and clean towels to you all.
Clean Uniforms!
Please make sure you come to class with a clean uniform. This shows respect for other students. The academy reserves the right to not allow student to attend class without a clean uniform. Students are allowed to refuse to train with another student if the opponent has dirty uniforms.
Lastly, I would like to thank you for being a part of the Caique Jiu Jitsu Academy family and for the continued support not only for the individual academies, but of the Caique Jiu Jitsu Academy Team as a whole.
Best regards,
Master Caique
